The Role

Our Global PMC Client has a new requirement for a well experienced Landscape Inspector to join their team in Madinat Zayed, Abu Dhabi, UAE to work on a new infrastructure project. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Landscape Inspector working in a recognised PMC or Consultancy company background. Preference will be given to those who have worked on infrastructure projects in the UAE / GCC previously. This role is available for immediate joining and is an initial 6-12 Month Contract position as an outsource, employed by J10 Consulting. Key Responsibilities: o Ensure that all construction works related to landscaping are performed in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. o Maintain a detailed diary of the day's work activities, issues, work approved or rejected, hours of operation, labor and equipment used, etc., and sign at the end of each day. o Interface with the public, especially residents and business owners adjacent to the work, to mitigate the construction impacts. o Coordinate with the Contractor's foreman in charge of the work daily to check on the proper execution of the work. o Coordinate with the Materials Technician and arrange for sampling and testing of satisfactorily completed work, and quality assurance testing of suspect materials. o Coordinate with the Survey Party Chief to check the line and grade of completed work for conformance with the plans and specifications. o Report questionable methods of operation by the Contractor to the Resident Engineer. o Report to the Resident Engineer any failure of the Contractor to conform to plans and specifications and to provide good workmanship. o Process the joint measurement forms and maintain records of their status. o Maintain records of completed works for interim and final payment and as- built plans. o Maintain detailed records of work performed by the contractor on a Day Works basis. o Make special notes and document the Contractor's activities that may lead to claims. o Be fair and firm in dealings with the Contractor. Consider alternatives and consequences carefully before making decisions. o Issue instructions to the Foreman in charge of the work and do not argue with the Contractor or his representatives. o Notify the Resident Engineer of conditions that render it impractical or unreasonable to enforce the specifications. o Report and document any accident that occurs on site and notify the Resident Engineer immediately. o Enforce performance of the work in strict accordance with the approved Safety Plan. o Check detours and traffic control zones for proper placement of signs, barricades, and lights.



Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent. Equivalency certificate issued from Ministry of Education-UAE is mandatory. o Minimum of 5+ years of demonstrable experience in all aspects of landscaping/irrigation construction supervision in large infrastructure projects o Must possess the ability to read working drawings and related specifications, and capable of enforcing such specifications. o Experience working on ADM (Abu Dhabi Municipality) project is preferred. o Must be fully computer literate and able to utilize computer technology to access and maintain records, generate reports, etc. o Good written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with project team. o ADM approval an Inspector is an advantage
