Overview

A Landscape Engineer designs, plans, and supervises the construction and maintenance of outdoor spaces such as parks, gardens, campuses, residential developments, and public areas. They combine engineering principles with aesthetic and environmental considerations to create functional and sustainable landscapes.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and review landscape design plans and construction drawings. Coordinate grading, drainage, and irrigation design to ensure sustainability and functionality. Work with architects, urban planners, and environmental engineers on site layouts. Prepare cost estimates, material specifications, and project timelines. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and local building codes. Supervise landscape construction and maintenance operations. Conduct site inspections and provide technical guidance to contractors. Integrate green infrastructure and sustainable design solutions.

Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Landscape Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, and landscape design software. Knowledge of horticulture, soil science, and irrigation systems. Strong understanding of sustainable design and environmental management. Excellent communication and project management skills. A minimum of 10 years of experience.
