Position Overview
This Land Surveyor role in Dubai supports key stormwater and microtunneling infrastructure works by delivering precise surveying, setting-out, and alignment verification across deep utilities and civil structures. The position contributes directly to AECOM's high-profile infrastructure programs, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and seamless progression of construction activities across the city.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform topographic, control, and setting-out surveys for pipelines, shafts, manholes, chambers, tunnels, and related structures.
• Establish, verify, and maintain survey benchmarks, control points, and reference grids in coordination with contractor survey teams.
• Apply approved IFC drawings, coordinate systems, and alignment data in accordance with RTA and project requirements.
• Verify horizontal and vertical alignments, pipe inverts, tunnel drives, and shaft locations before and during construction.
• Ensure all setting-out activities follow approved method statements and calibration procedures.
• Conduct as-built surveys and validate the accuracy of contractors' as-built drawings.
• Monitor microtunneling drive alignments and breakthrough tolerance compliance.
• Maintain updated survey records, field books, digital files, and traceable documentation.
• Coordinate with supervision teams to resolve survey discrepancies or deviations.
• Verify survey results for measurement sheets, interim payments, and progress certifications.
• Attend meetings and provide updates on survey progress, constraints, and technical needs.
• Ensure HSE compliance during all field operations, especially within confined spaces and shafts.
• Calibrate and maintain survey instruments in line with QA/QC procedures.
• Support commissioning and handover by verifying final levels and coordinates.

Ideal Profile

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
• Mandatory RTA approval and certification for Microtunneling Works.
• Experience with deep pipelines, shaft works, and tunnel alignment monitoring.
• Proficient with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Total Station, GPS, and other surveying technologies.
• Strong understanding of coordinate systems, datum control, and vertical alignment.
• Minimum 7 years of UAE infrastructure experience, preferably in Dubai.
• Ability to work independently with strong documentation accuracy and safety awareness.
• Familiarity with RTA, DM, and DEWA requirements for infrastructure projects.
