Job Summary:

We are seeking a hardworking and reliable Kitchen Helper to join our busy Italian restaurant kitchen. The ideal candidate will assist chefs in preparing ingredients, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, handling dishwashing, and supporting the smooth operation of the kitchen during service hours.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist chefs in daily food preparation (e.g., chopping vegetables, cleaning seafood, portioning pasta, etc.) Wash, peel, and cut ingredients according to recipes and chef's instructions Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, work surfaces, and utensils Ensure all ingredients are properly labeled, stored, and rotated (FIFO) Handle dishwashing and ensure crockery, cutlery, and cookware are always available Support cooking and plating during peak hours under supervision of chefs Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries (checking quantity and freshness) Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards as per UAE Municipality / HACCP regulations Dispose of kitchen waste properly and ensure waste segregation Perform other related duties as assigned by the Head Chef or Sous Chef
Requirements:

Previous experience in a commercial kitchen (preferably Italian cuisine) is an advantage Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety Ability to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment Physically fit and able to stand for long periods Team player with a positive and respectful attitude Flexible to work weekends, holidays, and shift hours
Preferred Skills:

Basic knowledge of Italian ingredients (e.g., pasta, sauces, herbs) Familiarity with commercial kitchen tools and equipment Quick learner and adaptable to new tasks
