Assist chefs in preparing basic ingredients such as chopping vegetables, peeling, and marinating.
Prepare traditional Lebanese garnishes and side items (e.g., toum, pickles, parsley for tabbouleh, etc.).
Ensure ingredients are ready and organized before service ("mise en place").
2. Kitchen Hygiene and Cleanliness
Clean and sanitize workstations, equipment, and utensils regularly.
Follow hygiene protocols as per Dubai Municipality and UAE food safety regulations.
Dispose of waste properly and assist in pest control measures.
3. Equipment and Utensil Handling
Wash, dry, and store dishes, cutlery, pots, and pans.
Ensure that all kitchen equipment is cleaned and stored properly after use.
4. Inventory and Stock Assistance
Assist in unloading and storing food deliveries.
Monitor expiry dates and report spoiled or damaged items to the chef.
Help in organizing the storeroom and refrigerator (First-In, First-Out method).
5. Supporting Kitchen Operations
Refill stations with sauces, bread, cutlery, and condiments.
Assist in plate presentation under the guidance of chefs.
Ensure that service runs smoothly during peak hours.
6. Compliance and Safety
Wear appropriate kitchen uniforms and personal protective gear (gloves, hairnet, apron).
Adhere to all food safety and hygiene standards.
Report accidents, hazards, or equipment malfunctions immediately.
7. Miscellaneous Duties
Assist in food packing for takeaways or delivery orders.
Support cleaning and closing duties at the end of the shift.
Run occasional errands or assist other departments when required.
Skills and Requirements:
Basic knowledge of Lebanese cuisine is a plus.
Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
Team player with a positive attitude.
Physically fit and able to stand for long hours.
