Job Summary:

The Kitchen Coordinator oversees the daily operations of the kitchen to ensure efficiency, cleanliness, and compliance with food safety standards. They coordinate food preparation, manage inventory, and support kitchen staff to maintain high-quality service in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate daily kitchen activities and ensure efficient food preparation and service. Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization in compliance with health and safety regulations. Assist with inventory control; monitor stock levels, place orders, and receive deliveries. Support scheduling and supervision of kitchen staff and volunteers (if applicable). Ensure all kitchen equipment is maintained and functioning properly; report malfunctions. Assist in meal planning and preparation when needed. Monitor food storage and rotation to minimize waste and ensure freshness. Maintain proper documentation, including temperature logs, cleaning checklists, and inventory records. Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff, suppliers, and management. Uphold food hygiene and safety standards at all times.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in a kitchen or food service environment (2+ years preferred). Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations (e.g., ServSafe certification is a plus). Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Preferred Skills:

Basic culinary skills or food preparation experience. Inventory management knowledge. Experience working with diverse teams or in community kitchens (if applicable).
