Job Description

Job Summary:
The Kindergarten Coordinator oversees the kindergarten program, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children. This role involves curriculum planning, teacher support, parent communication, and compliance with educational standards. The coordinator works closely with teachers, staff, and administrators to enhance early childhood education quality.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Program Development & Curriculum Supervision

  • Design, implement, and evaluate a developmentally appropriate kindergarten curriculum.
  • Ensure alignment with state/national early learning standards.
  • Introduce innovative teaching methods and educational resources.
  • Monitor lesson plans and classroom activities to promote holistic child development.
2. Teacher Support & Staff Management
  • Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to kindergarten teachers.
  • Conduct classroom observations and offer constructive feedback.
  • Organize professional development workshops for staff.
  • Assist in teacher recruitment, orientation, and performance evaluations.
3. Parent & Community Engagement
  • Serve as the primary contact for parents regarding kindergarten programs.
  • Organize parent-teacher meetings, workshops, and school events.
  • Address parent concerns and foster positive home-school partnerships.
  • Collaborate with community organizations to enhance learning opportunities.
4. Administrative Duties & Compliance
  • Maintain records of student progress, attendance, and program evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations.
  • Manage kindergarten budget and resource allocation.
  • Prepare reports for school leadership and regulatory agencies.
5. Student Well-being & Inclusion
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Support individualized learning plans for children with diverse needs.
  • Address behavioral and developmental concerns in collaboration with specialists.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years in kindergarten/early childhood teaching, with leadership experience.
  • Certifications: Teaching license/certification (e.g., state-specific ECE credential).
  • Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of child development theories and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators.
  • Proficiency in educational technology and assessment tools.
