e.construct designs structures such as bridges, high-rise design, precast concrete engineering and post-tensioning design. The firm's core work is structural engineering; however, e.construct is increasingly holistic at its approach to buildings and it has divisions in MEP, Geotechnical and emerging construction technology such as 3D printing of concrete, technology and 3D laser scanning.

As a junior structural engineer, you will be working on specific engineering design andanalysis tasks under the supervision of a senior structural engineer. The nature andprogression of the assignments and the level of responsibilities will depend on yourperformance and willingness to grow. Good communication and interpersonal skillsare expected. Ability to self-direct and to independently research technical solutions areencouraged.Responsibilities

• Assists other engineers in preparing project designs using the latest codes andstandards.
• Performs structural design and calculations as directed by seniorengineers.
• Use FEM design software, in-house spreadsheets and prepare manualcalculation as required.
• Understand the limitations of software and can verify the software output.
• Prepares basic cost estimates, material take-off, and scheduling.
• Prepare reports, presentation as directed by senior engineers.
• Requests drafting staff to produce finished drawings from sketches and/or prepare structural drawings, sketches to a high standard.
• Follow company standards and procedures including design and checking.
• Performs other duties of similar nature and level as assigned.
• Exhibits a willingness to assist mid and senior level engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering.
• Up to 2 years of experience as a junior structural engineer in a consultancy firm.
• Has a strong theoretical engineering knowledge.
• Open-minded with the ability to follow instructions and work under closesupervision.
• Able to work in a Team working environment.
• Able to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
• Is highly motivated and is willing to learn and meet new challenges.
• Is flexible in an environment with frequent changes in deadlines.
