We have a great opportunity for a talented Junior Sous Chef to join our team in our award wining Chinese restaurant Shang Palace. The successful applicant will have a passion for cooking and a gift for presentation. Shang Palace brings the art of Chinese cuisine to Abu Dhabi with hand-crafted flavours that have been perfected for over half a century. Listed in the debut MICHELIN Guide Abu Dhabi 2023.
What are we looking for?
A clear Passion for food and the culinary arts.
Diploma in Culinary Arts or Hotel Management School.
Certified Trainer for all Food Hygiene Courses and HACCP Courses.
Advanced Food Hygiene Certificate.
Minimum of 3 - 5 years experience in a 4* or 5* hotel with various positions.
Knowledge in computer (MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
What will you do?
Be responsible for overall culinary operation including purchasing, receiving, storage and product control
Help plan and implement creative menus.
Work closely with the Chinese Chef to assure smooth running in all aspects of the culinary operation.
Coordinate with Service, Stewarding & Events Team to facilitate excellent communication.
Ensure the realisation of team established quality and service standards.
Maintain high levels of cleanliness/orderliness at the bar and surrounding areas.
Empathetically listen to client queries/complaints and work with colleagues/Service Manager to find solutions.
