This role will demand a broad range of experience and knowledge to support design projects, value-added engineering efforts, and to continuously enhance our engineering analytics group. Candidates will need to have the ability to balance efforts on multiple projects simultaneously that will include forensics-style engineering analysis and advanced design engineering. Innovation is key and we encourage the development of new solutions and technologies in-house. Design: You will be responsible for the design of facilities related to electrical systems across a variety of markets including high-rise residential, education, commercial, industrial, manufacturing, science, and technology industries. You will be expected to coordinate and work closely with a multi-discipline design team throughout the entire life cycle of projects from planning stages through construction documents. This will include the preparation of electrical (MV/LV/ELV/AV) designs, calculations, analysis, estimates, reports, and specifications for building and facilities projects. VE & Analytics: Our engineers are also responsible for performing advanced engineering analysis and value-added engineering. This will include developing optimized and cutting-edge solutions to address clients\xe2\x80\x99 unique challenges. Candidates will be expected to have an innate drive to learn and expand their skill set including utilizing current industry tools or developing new in-house solutions as required. Efforts will typically be carried through to full design/redesign and can begin anywhere from the concept phase to the final design. Responsibilities Builds analytic and design skills Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer Preparation from concept to IFC drawings in the following disciplines lighting, small power, power distribution, ELV systems, Fire Alarm & Public Address, etc. in coordination with other disciplines. Performing calculations such as power cable/bus ducts\xe2\x80\x99 voltage drop & short circuit, lighting Illumination, load schedules, and single line diagram. Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer Uses computer software as a tool for solving engineering problems Build proficiency in AutoCAD & REVIT Performs work in accordance with the agreed-upon budget and schedule Prepare basic cost estimates, material take-off, and scheduling Prepare reports and presentations as directed by senior engineers Ability to solve problems using sound judgment, creativity, and innovation Follow company standards and procedures including design and checking Perform other duties of similar nature and level as assigned Exhibit a willingness to assist mid and senior-level engineers Good planning, organizational, and communication skills are necessary for success in this position Minimum Requirements A Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent is required 0-4 years of relevant experience designing a wide variety of commercial, high-rise residential, and industrial designs for buildings and facilities Familiar with REVIT and/or AutoCAD Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills are a must Interest in personal and professional growth, in a challenging, rewarding, and competitive professional environment Experience should be in systems associated with MV/LV/ELV/AV design Preferred Qualifications Advanced Degree Candidates from North America, UK, or the EU are welcome Experience in power system studies using EasyPower, SKM or ETAP or Amtech Pro design, BT CTcalc Experience on LEED Project(s) is also a plus Proficiency in REVIT is strongly preferred or ability and desire to learn quickly. Exposure to one or more of the following software suites, or equivalent, is a plus: Autodesk Navisworks, Caneco ONE, Ecodial, Simaris, DIALux / DIALux EVO, and Relux.
