Looking to take the next step in your career? Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivated Junior Purchasing Agent to join our Project Delivery Group (PDG) in Hatch - MENA Region

As the successful candidate, you will:

• Be involved from the planning/initiation phase of projects until close-out of purchasing packages and relates to the acquisition of materials and equipment in support of engineering and construction management.
• Have experience in the discipline of materials/equipment acquisition including the purchase of tagged, bulk and engineered materials for projects and carry out the \xe2\x80\x9cPurchase Order Formation and Award\xe2\x80\x9d as well as \xe2\x80\x9cAdministration and close-out\xe2\x80\x9d work processes of purchase orders (local and international) in accordance with the project requirements.
• Implement purchasing procedures and templates/documents to be used on the project.
• Responsible for managing the purchasing deliverable towards the following objectives and deliverables:

o Preparation of Bidder\'s List for approval
o Liaison with Package Engineer and other project disciplines to obtain and verify technical bid documents to ensure that specification is compatible with commercial documentation to form a cohesive bid document
o Preparation of bid documents, advise on contractual terms and conditions and issuing of Invitation to bid to the approved bidders
o Manage the bidding process including technical queries from bidders and issuance of any addenda\'s during the bid period.
o Liaises or participates in discussion with the Client to establish General terms and condition suitable for the project
o Facilitate Purchase order kick off meetings and handover to expediting
o Ensure proper control and methodology of contractual change notice to Purchase Order
o Revision, claims and/or back charges in accordance with appropriate terms and conditions
o Ensures proper process of Progress Payment validation process in support to Accounting for payment approval
o Manages bonds/guarantees
o Ensures that all purchase orders are closed out in accordance with project specific procedures/requirements
o Performs award and administration of purchase orders in accordance with applicable legislation relating to corporation, taxation, custom duties and importation laws.

You bring to the role:

• A tertiary qualification in relevant discipline
• Relevant 5-10 years+ experience as a buyer in a large EPCM company
• Experience as a Buyer in local and international markets
• Experience working on large or complex projects
• Strong technical focus with a good understanding of engineering concepts
• Ability to attain quality, cost and schedule objectives and strong deliverable focus
• A high degree of understanding of interdisciplinary dependencies related to the discipline
• Good understanding of procurement, contracting, pre-operational verification and commissioning methodologies
• Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
• A strong focus toward clients
• Working knowledge of SmatPlant system (or similar) is advantageous.
