Position Summary
We are seeking a
Junior Accountant
to join our dynamic finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about accounting, has hands-on experience with Zoho Books, and is eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced, challenging environment. You will assist with day-to-day accounting functions, support financial reporting, and ensure accuracy and compliance in all financial transactions.
Key Responsibilities
Manage Daily Transactions
:
Record and categorize financial transactions in Zoho Books, ensuring all entries are accurate and up-to-date.
Handle accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), including invoicing, payments, and collections.
Reconcile bank accounts and ensure proper recording of receipts and disbursements.
General Ledger Management
:
Post journal entries, adjustments, and accruals to the general ledger in Zoho Books.
Maintain chart of accounts and ensure consistency in financial records.
Financial Reporting
:
Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports (balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and cash flow reports).
Monitor financial trends and highlight discrepancies to senior management.
Tax & Compliance
:
Support preparation of tax filings (GST, VAT, etc.), ensuring compliance with local tax regulations.
Ensure timely payments and filings of tax-related obligations.
Zoho Books Expertise
:
Leverage Zoho Books for accurate and efficient accounting processes.
Assist in optimizing the usage of Zoho Books for reporting and automation purposes.
Collaborate with senior accountants to troubleshoot and resolve any Zoho Books-related issues.
Month-End and Year-End Closing
:
Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all transactions are recorded.
Prepare schedules and reports for auditors as needed.
Audit & Internal Controls
:
Assist in audits and support the implementation of internal controls to ensure accuracy and integrity in financial data.
Maintain financial records in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Collaboration & Communication
:
Work closely with other departments (e.g., operations, HR, and sales) to resolve accounting-related inquiries.
Communicate effectively with senior accountants and management regarding financial matters.
Requirements
Education
:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Experience
:
1-2 years of experience in accounting, with a strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
Hands-on experience with
Zoho Books
is mandatory. Knowledge of Zoho Books features such as invoicing, expense tracking, and reporting will be a strong advantage.
Skills
:
Proficient in
Zoho Books
(or similar accounting software).
Strong understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions preferred).
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
