The Junior Accountant with leasing experience is responsible for supporting the Finance and Leasing departments by handling daily accounting tasks, rental transactions, tenant accounts, and financial documentation. This role ensures accuracy in financial records related to leases, tenant billing, payments, and reporting in compliance with UAE accounting standards and company policies.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeasing-Related Accounting
Process rental invoices, payments, renewals, and credit notes for tenants.
Record lease transactions including rent, security deposits, service charges, and penalties.
Reconcile tenant accounts and follow up on outstanding payments.
Coordinate with the Leasing team to ensure accurate unit availability and contract updates.
Assist with calculation and posting of amortizations for rent and lease incentives.
Maintain updated records for Ejari and tenancy agreements in coordination with leasing admin.
General Accounting Tasks
Prepare daily accounting entries (AP, AR, journal entries).
Reconcile bank accounts, supplier accounts, and tenant ledgers.
Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
Assist in preparing financial statements, reports, and schedules.
Maintain accurate filing of financial documents and receipts.
Handle petty cash and expense reimbursements as assigned.
Reporting & Compliance
Generate rental revenue reports, aging reports, and collection summaries.
Ensure transactions comply with IFRS and UAE VAT regulations.
Assist with internal and external audits by providing required documents.
Maintain confidentiality of company and tenant information.
Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
1-3 years of accounting experience (real estate or property leasing preferred).
Knowledge of property management accounting, rental billing, and tenant ledgers.
Proficiency in MS Excel; experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, Tally, Yardi, or ERP) is an advantage.
Basic understanding of UAE VAT and accounting principles.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
