Job Title: Junior Accountant

At Aon, we shape decisions for the better to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world. As a Junior Accountant in our Dubai DIFC office, you will support the finance team in delivering high?quality financial information and maintaining strong financial controls.

What the day will look like

As a Junior Accountant, you will:

Support the finance team in day?to?day accounting and finance activities Assist with monitoring deposits and posting them accurately and on time in the broking system Assist in the timely posting of payments, both fiduciary and non?fiduciary Process employee expense reports and ensure they comply with company policy Prepare and enter basic intercompany transactions for review and approval Support the preparation of regulatory submissions and required documentation Assist with preparation and coordination of internal and external audits Prepare and update assigned balance sheet reconciliations Assist with bank reconciliations Support general ledger vs. technical ledger reconciliation activities Help maintain general ledger accounts, including preparing basic journal entries for accruals, amortizations and other month?end entries under supervision Maintain accurate record keeping and filing of finance documents in the Finance folder Perform other day?to?day finance tasks as assigned by the Senior Accountant or Finance Manager

Skills and experience that will lead to success

1-3 years of experience in accounting, finance, or audit (internships and traineeships can be included) Experience with financial accounting, controllership support, or external audit is an advantage Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required Professional certification (e.g. ACCA, CMA, CPA) achieved or in progress is an advantage Good understanding of basic accounting principles and financial statements Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting/ERP systems Strong attention to detail and accuracy Good organizational and time?management skills Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural team and communicate effectively in English
