Job Summary:

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented

Junior Accountant

with 1 to 2 years of accounting experience in the

UAE construction industry

. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting in financial record-keeping, managing project-related accounting tasks, and supporting the finance team in day-to-day activities while ensuring compliance with UAE regulations and industry-specific accounting practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Handle day-to-day accounting transactions including journal entries, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and bank reconciliations Assist in preparing cost reports and tracking project-related expenses Record and monitor subcontractor payments, retentions, and advances Assist with project invoicing and ensure proper documentation is maintained Support monthly and yearly closings, including accruals and provisions Maintain petty cash, employee reimbursements, and supplier accounts Assist in preparation and submission of VAT returns in compliance with UAE Federal Tax Authority regulations Coordinate with procurement and project teams for cost tracking and reporting Support internal and external audit processes by providing necessary financial documentation Maintain updated records of financial transactions, contracts, and supplier invoices

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 1 to 2 years of accounting experience in the

UAE construction industry

Preferred Knowledge of construction accounting principles (WIP, project costing, retentions, etc.) Familiarity with UAE VAT and tax laws Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, or ERP systems like SAP, Oracle) Strong Excel and data entry skills Good organizational and time-management abilities Attention to detail and accuracy Strong communication and team collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with project-based accounting systems Knowledge of UAE labor and commercial laws related to the construction sector
