Role Description

We are seeking a dedicated Junior Accountant to handle end-to-end bookkeeping and taxation requirements for our Dubai operations. This is a full-time, on-site role in Al Qouz. The candidate will work independently with minimal supervision and be responsible for ensuring compliance with UAE financial and tax regulations specific to the jewellery sector.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and daily bookkeeping entries. Prepare, review, and file VAT returns with the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) in line with UAE VAT laws. Maintain complete and accurate bookkeeping and financial records compliant with UAE DNFBP standards. Ensure compliance with JAFZA financial reporting standards, including quarterly and annual submissions. Prepare and reconcile invoices, supplier payments, and customer receipts. Liaise with auditors, banks, and regulatory authorities as required. Maintain up-to-date records of inventory valuation and cost of goods sold specific to the jewellery trade. Support management in preparing financial statements, budgets, and ad-hoc tax compliance reports. Store and organize AML-related documentation (customer files, STRs, risk assessments) securely for at least five years. Liaise as needed with FIU, Ministry of Economy, and JAFZA during audits and regulatory reviews. Respond promptly to queries from taxation departments and government authorities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum 1 year of accounting/taxation experience in the UAE (preferably in JAFZA or free zones). Hands-on experience with UAE VAT filing and FTA portal. Proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and general accounting software. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently. Prior experience in the jewellery, gold, or precious metals industry is a strong advantage.

Compensation & Benefits
