Job Description

The Junior Accountant is responsible for supporting the daily accounting and finance operations of Baba Roma. The role includes data entry, bookkeeping, expense tracking, reconciliations, and assisting with monthly financial closing while ensuring compliance with company policies and UAE regulations.

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Record daily sales reports from all outlets and ensure accuracy. Post all financial transactions in the accounting system (invoices, receipts, payments, credit notes). Maintain proper filing of accounting documents for audit and internal review. Verify supplier invoices, LPOs, and delivery notes before posting. Prepare supplier payment schedules. Maintain updated vendor records. Record customer invoices and collections. Follow up on outstanding receivables. Maintain updated customer accounts. Conduct daily cash and card reconciliation with outlet teams. Reconcile bank statements on a weekly/monthly basis. Assist in preparing monthly financial reports (P&L, expenses summary, cost analysis). Coordinate with the central kitchen and outlet teams for consumption reports. Support month-end stock-taking and reconcile stock variances. Ensure all records comply with UAE VAT requirements. Assist in VAT return preparation and submission. Support internal and external audit processes by providing required documents.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in accounting with partly qualified CMA or ACCA members. 1-3 years of accounting experience (F&B or hotel industry preferred). Knowledge of UAE VAT regulations is an advantage. Experience in cash handling and reconciliation preferred. Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles. Proficiency in MS Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas). Experience with accounting software. Good communication and coordination skills. High attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
