Summary:
The Interior Designer will lead the interior design process for the company's projects, primarily focusing on residential developments but potentially including other asset types. This role is responsible for creating functional, aesthetically pleasing, and high-quality interior spaces that align with project objectives, brand standards, and market expectations, with a strong focus on material selection and space planning.
Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive interior design concepts and strategies for assigned projects, from initial brief to final implementation.
- Lead the development of internal space programs, including space planning, adjacency diagrams, and furniture layouts to ensure optimal flow and functionality.
- Select, specify, and document all interior finishes, materials, fixtures, fittings, equipment (FF&E), and lighting. Maintain awareness of material costs and durability.
- Produce detailed design drawings, specifications, and mood boards for presentations and construction documentation.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant building codes, accessibility standards, and project requirements.
- Collaborate effectively with architects, engineers, project managers, and procurement teams throughout the design and construction phases.
- Review and approve material submittals and shop drawings related to interior design elements.
- Conduct site visits during construction and fit-out to ensure design intent is met and quality standards are maintained.
- Stay current with industry trends, new materials, and innovative design solutions.
- Manage project design deliverables within agreed timelines and budgets.
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a closely related field.
- Minimum 5-7 years of professional experience as an Interior Designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing completed projects, particularly in residential design. Experience within the UAE/GCC market is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in selecting and specifying finished materials, FF&E, and managing the associated documentation.
- Proven ability in space planning, furniture layout design, and developing comprehensive design packages.
- Proficiency in industry-standard design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite - Photoshop, InDesign).
- Understanding of construction processes and ability to coordinate with construction teams.
- Excellent visual, written, and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Creative mindset with strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
