The Veneer Foreman will be responsible for overseeing all veneer operations in the workshop, ensuring high-quality lay-up and finishing of natural and reconstituted veneers. The role involves supervising the veneer team, managing workflow, and coordinating with other departments to ensure timely and defect-free production.
Key Responsibilities:
Expertise in all types of natural and reconstituted veneers, including various matching and lay-up methods.
Proven track record of leading veneer teams and managing workflow in high-volume joinery workshops.
Skilled in hot and cold pressing, correct adhesive usage, and achieving defect-free finishes.
Strong attention to detail ensuring top-quality output.
Ability to read and follow shop drawings and veneer layouts.
Efficient use of veneer sheets, minimizing waste and controlling inventory.
Experienced in supervising, training, and motivating staff.
Effective collaboration with design, production, and finishing units.
Ability to identify and fix veneer defects such as bubbling, cracking, or mismatched grains.
Adherence to safety standards and routine maintenance of veneer presses and tools.
