We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented
Purchaser
to oversee procurement activities for our joinery and woodworking division. The ideal candidate will have solid technical knowledge of wood species, joinery materials, hardware, and related supplies, along with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is critical in ensuring the timely acquisition of high-quality materials at competitive and cost-effective prices.
The successful candidate must have a minimum of 5 years' procurement experience within a joinery or interior fit-out company in the UAE and be highly familiar with sourcing from local suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
Source and purchase joinery materials including timber, veneers, MDF, plywood, hardware, fittings, and finishing products
Develop, evaluate, and maintain strong relationships with both existing and new suppliers
Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms to achieve optimal value and efficiency
Identify new vendors, issue purchase orders, and closely monitor deliveries to ensure materials are available as required
Coordinate with production and project teams to forecast material requirements and prevent shortages or excess stock
Maintain accurate procurement records and generate reports related to pricing, quality, and supplier performance
Ensure all purchased materials meet company quality standards and technical specifications
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Purchaser or Procurement Officer within a joinery, interior fit-out, or construction environment
Strong knowledge of joinery materials, hardware, and the UAE supplier market
Excellent negotiation, communication, and coordination skills
High level of attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management abilities
