Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Joinery Foreman to supervise and coordinate joinery works in furniture production and interior fit-out projects. The Joinery Foreman will be responsible for managing a team of carpenters and joiners, ensuring high-quality workmanship, adherence to project timelines, and efficient use of materials and labor. The ideal candidate should have in-depth knowledge of joinery techniques, materials, and production processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Supervision & Coordination:

Lead and manage a team of joiners, carpenters, and finishing workers on site or in the workshop.

Assign daily tasks and ensure that work is completed efficiently and on schedule.

Supervise installation of joinery items such as kitchens, wardrobes, doors, cabinets, paneling, and furniture.

Ensure proper interpretation of technical drawings and specifications by the team.

Monitor workforce productivity and address any performance or quality issues.

Quality Control:

Inspect all joinery work for quality, accuracy, and finish before delivery or installation.

Ensure all joinery works are completed according to design specifications and client requirements.

Conduct on-site inspections and resolve any issues related to fitment, alignment, or finishing.

Materials & Tools Management:

Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of materials and hardware.

Monitor material usage to reduce waste and improve cost efficiency.

Ensure proper maintenance and use of carpentry tools and equipment.

Health & Safety:

Enforce health and safety regulations on site and in the workshop.

Conduct tool-box talks and safety briefings for joinery staff.

Ensure the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices.

Reporting & Communication:

Liaise with site engineers, project managers, and designers to coordinate workflow and resolve issues.

Maintain daily reports on workforce activity, progress, and any delays or material shortages.

Provide feedback on team performance and training needs.

Qualifications & Skills:

Minimum 5+ years of experience in joinery, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role.

Strong technical knowledge of joinery, carpentry, and wood finishing techniques.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and shop drawings.

Familiarity with materials such as MDF, plywood, hardwood, veneers, laminates, and hardware fittings.

Good leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Knowledge of production and installation processes in furniture and fit-out projects.

Basic understanding of health and safety standards in construction or workshop environments.
