Job Description
IT Technician Firenor General Contracting is a subsidiary company of Firenor International, Norway, which is one of the leading suppliers of high-quality firefighting products. Firenor General Contracting together with Firenor International, Norway predominantly develops products and systems for Oil & Gas, Power, Industrial and Offshore segments. Firenor General Contracting designs, creates, tests, installs, replaces, and upgrades high quality state of the art industrial grade Active Fire Fighting Equipment, as well as Electrical, Instrumentation & Automation systems (PLC, SCADA, Control System and Telecommunication) This is an exciting opportunity to gain a role in a Norwegian company. We offer a varied role and progression opportunities. To succeed you\'ll need strong technical knowledge, as well as problem solving, communication, and leadership skills.
- Install, test and commission local IT infrastructures.
- Maintain database of all asset numbers of IT assets
- Resolve hardware and software issues like Email/Internet connections.
- Create multiple profiles on PCs as and when required.
- Coordinate with Norway IT for any IT related matters
- Handle Server issues & taking back up of the servers daily.
- Assist with appropriate training and IT Presentations as required.
- Liaise with external IT contractors where necessary.
- Router configuration
- Installation and configuration of server to UAE domain and telephone lines
- Troubleshoot when application and equipment failures occur.
- Give technical advice to users as and when required.
- Educate and train project & office staff on how to use various applications.
- Graduate and/or with certification in MCSE (Microsoft certified Systems engineer)
- 2-4 years of experience of which at least 2 years should have functioned in a similar role in the UAE/Gulf
- Should be able to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Good appreciation of industry application environments and supporting infrastructure.
- Have a technical competency in desktop and server operating
- Ability to communicate, demonstrate and teach.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of IT technologies and developments.
- Should be able to perform multitasks.
- Good organization and planning skills
- Able to resolve issues on own initiative.
- Methodical and disciplined approach to problem solving.
- Able to produce detailed and accurate work.
- Dubai: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
- Diploma (Required)
- IT: 3 years (Required)
