The Role We are looking for an IT Software Engineer to be based in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with the ability to handle multiple job responsibilities, set priorities and to work with cross functional teams while maintaining a good working relationship with both external and internal stakeholders.

Your role

Client Platform Support, break/fix, and call logging, issue resolution.

Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as updates.

Build common application packages deployable within an SCCM environment or the distribution entities where applicable, which may include but not limited to servers, workstations.

Responsible for process and procedures for application packaging documentation and licensing.

Develope software installation scripts and provide code review for complex software installations, good to have knowledge in powershell scripting and experience in powershell Appdeploy toolkit

Assist clients and business owners in advanced level software installation package distribution troubleshooting

Update/Create documentation as needed (user guides, admin guides, knowledge base articles, FAQs, quick reference guides)

Create standard operating procedures on all solutions implemented

Work closely with users to perform technical and requirements analysis, user acceptance test

Actively work with multiple groups to review work and to remove impediments/roadblocks

Provides statuses & estimates of all priority and non-priority projects along with recommended scope or schedule changes based on capacity and unforeseen challenges.

Your skills and experience

Effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of platforms design and related software systems.

The individual must be self-managed who has more than 6-8 years IT experience. He/she has worked within life cycles between base platform and business applications.

This individual will assist with application virtualization activities using tools as App-V, Install shield

This individual is required to be hands-on and have worked with a vast amount of Microsoft, Citrix, Virtualization engineering application and provisioning Technologies.

Strong knowledge on windows installer

Fluent in English with analytical and problem-solving skills, who has strong understanding of company's Information, application systems and its relationships.

Application Management and distribution services/End user computing by performing multiple roles and responsibilities in other areas like Client Infrastructure Management.

As an IT Software Engineer also serves as a help desk point of contact for their users, answering 2nd, 3rd and 4th tier tech support calls. On working with a help desk team, may define priorities and assist with the higher-level calls; ensuring quality troubleshooting services are delivered to business in a timely manner.

As an engineer are expected to not only understand the needs of the user but also the technical needs of their software. This means they must have a deep understanding of hardware technical specifications as they relate to client software needs.

Some experience in the setup, configuration, maintenance, and upgrading of one or more server operating system families (Linux, Windows, Citrix, etc.)

Some experience with installing and configuring servers, network equipment, storage, and workstations in a multi-user environment

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree/Masters in Computer Science from an accredited college or university required, equivalent experience.

Candidate should have hands on experience with SCCM or other software packaging type tools.

Successful applicants would be required to undergo and satisfy Saab Security Clearance formalities.
