The IT Infrastructure Specialist plays a pivotal role in architecting, deploying, and maintaining a robust IT environment. With proficiency in VMware, Microsoft technologies, Network, Disaster Recovery planning, and various IT standards, this specialist ensures a resilient, secure, and efficient IT infrastructure while managing projects effectively.
Install, manage and maintain all system hardware and software: VMware environments, and Microsoft platforms (windows server , Active Directory. MS Exchange Server, Microsoft Azure 365 Cloud \xe2\x80\x93 File Servers, windows clustering, MS -SQL Clustering, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Azure DevOps)
Install, manage and maintain VDI Solutions (Citrix /VMware Horizon) , WordPress , Linux server
Install, manage and maintain Storage , Database and Backup system
DevOps Infrastructure - building and setting up new development tools and infrastructure
Maintain subject matter expertise in all applications for systems and maintain knowledge on all new and upcoming technologies
Work closely with vendors and internal teams to deliver integrated IT solutions
Ensure alignment with ITIL best practices in service management
Monitor and manage the health, performance, and capacity of IT systems
Perform regular maintenance, including updates, patches, and software upgrades
Web Serves, DNS server , DHCP , Load balancer (NetScaler ) Management
Engage and collaborate with end-users to understand and gather requirements for desired
ad hoc IT solutions, and design and implement the solution.
Evaluate and recommend improvements, modifications or changes to an organization\xe2\x80\x99s IT systems to reduce costs and upgrade the systems
Provide regular status reports to management
2. Project Management:
Lead and participate in infrastructure-related projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and budget.
Use project management best practices to coordinate cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
3. Standards & Compliance:
Ensure IT processes and controls comply with ISO27001 (Information Security Management), ISO20000 (IT Service Management), and ISO22301 (Business Continuity Management)
Regularly review and update processes to align with these standards
4. Disaster Recovery (DR) & Business Continuity:
Develop, implement, and test DR and business continuity plans in line with ISO22301
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure continuity of critical operations
Configure and manage DR automation software
5. Security:
Uphold and maintain security standards, particularly as outlined in ISO27001.
Monitor and respond to potential security incidents swiftly
Implement a Security Baseline and apply all security measures
Good knowledge of Security Operations Center (SOC) tools and technologies
6. Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain up-to-date documentation of IT processes, configurations, system architecture diagrams & standards.
Produce regular reports on infrastructure health, security, and compliance status.
7. Continuous Learning & Training:
Stay updated with advancements in IT standards, VMware, Microsoft, DevOps, and ITIL.
Attend training, workshops, and certification courses as necessary
8. Qualifications:
Bachelor\'s degree in computer engineering or equivalent, and a related field. Certifications: VMware Certified Professional, Microsoft Certifications (new ) / Network Certifications, ITIL, Implementer for ISO27001, ISO20000, ISO22301.
Minimum of 5-7 years in IT infrastructure roles with project management experience
9. Skills & Competencies:
Proficiency in VMware, Cloud infrastructure, DevOps Tools and Microsoft technologies.
In-depth knowledge of ITIL, ISO27001, ISO20000, and ISO22301 standards.
