Position Overview: As the Irrigation Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in preserving water resources, maintaining soil health, and contributing to our mission. Responsibilities:
- Design, install, and maintain efficient irrigation systems tailored to various crop needs and soil types.
- Monitor and manage irrigation schedules, adjusting water application rates based on weather conditions and plant requirements.
- Conduct regular inspections of irrigation equipment, including pumps, valves, filters, and pipelines, ensuring proper functioning and timely repairs.
- Collaborate with the farm management team to develop irrigation plans that align with crop cycles and production goals.
- Manage water-saving techniques and technologies, such as drip irrigation.
- Monitor soil moisture levels and plant health to prevent over- or under-watering.
- Maintain accurate records of irrigation activities, equipment maintenance, and water consumption.
- Troubleshoot and resolve irrigation-related issues promptly to minimize disruptions to farm operations.
- Train and educate farm staff on proper irrigation practices and water conservation methods.
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in irrigation technology and best practices in water management.
- Bachelor\'s degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience (3+ years) in irrigation management, preferably in a farm or agricultural setting.
- Strong knowledge of various irrigation systems, including drip, sprinkler, and flood systems.
- Familiarity with irrigation equipment, such as pumps, valves, filters, and controllers.
- Understanding of soil-water relationships and plant water requirements.
- Proficiency in irrigation system design, installation, and maintenance.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and address irrigation-related issues.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Commitment to sustainable water management and environmental stewardship.
- UAE driving license is a plus.
