Job Description

preparing authentic Iraqi dishes, managing kitchen staff, and maintaining high standards of quality, hygiene, and consistency. Responsibilities include cooking specific dishes like grilled meats and dolma, managing inventory, ensuring food safety, and potentially developing new menus. Core responsibilities

Food preparation and cooking:

Prepare and cook a variety of Iraqi dishes, including grilled meats (kebabs, kofta), shish taouk*, rice dishes, and appetizers, using traditional methods and recipes.

Kitchen management:

Supervise kitchen staff, delegate tasks, and ensure the kitchen operates efficiently, especially during peak hours.

Quality control:

Maintain high standards for food quality, consistency, and presentation. This includes inspecting ingredients, monitoring portion control, and ensuring all dishes meet specific standards.

Hygiene and safety:

Uphold strict food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards, adhering to all relevant regulations like HACCP.

Inventory and ordering:

Monitor food stock levels, manage inventory to minimize waste, and place orders for new supplies.
Additional duties

Menu development:

Potentially assist with creating new dishes or menus and modifying existing recipes.

Staff training:

Train and mentor junior chefs and other kitchen staff to develop their skills.

Equipment maintenance:

Ensure kitchen equipment is well-maintained and functioning correctly.

Customer interaction:

In some roles, may interact with guests to ensure their satisfaction.
Skills and experience

Culinary expertise:

Proven experience in authentic Iraqi cuisine, including specific dishes and cooking techniques.
