Inventory Controller
Job Title: Inventory Controller
Department: Supply Chain / Stores / Procurement
Reports To: Supply Chain Manager / Procurement Manager
Job Overview:
The Inventory Controller is responsible for managing and controlling all aspects of the company's inventory, including spare parts, tools, equipment, and consumables. This role ensures optimal stock levels are maintained to support operational needs while minimizing costs and preventing stockouts or overstocking.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily operations of the storeroom, including receiving, issuing, and storing all inventory items.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the inventory management system.
  • Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile them with system records to identify and investigate discrepancies.
  • Implement and maintain a systematic inventory control system (e.g., FIFO - First-In, First-Out).
  • Monitor stock levels and generate purchase requisitions for replenishment in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with the procurement department on lead times, pricing, and quality of materials.
  • Ensure all materials are properly labeled, stored, and organized for easy identification and access.
  • Control the issuance of items to technicians and staff, verifying authorized requisitions.
  • Prepare regular reports on inventory status, stock movement, slow-moving items, and obsolescence.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and secure storeroom environment.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (3+ years) in inventory control, storekeeping, or warehouse management.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong understanding of inventory control principles and practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy in record-keeping.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with vendors and internal departments.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jack) is a plus.
