Job Summary: Looking for an Inventory Accountant in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE)

Job Key Details:

• Oversee the daily inventory accounting activities including the recording, reconciliation and analysis of inventory transactions
• Collaborate with the purchasing and operations teams to optimize inventory control processes
• Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records, ensuring proper valuation, identification and classification of inventory items
• Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconciliations to verify the accuracy of stock levels and resolve any discrepancies
• Analyze inventory variances, investigate any discrepancies and provide timely and accurate reports to management
• Conduct regular analysis of inventory turnover, carrying costs as well as slow-moving or obsolete items to identify opportunities for improvement and cost reduction
• Calculate cost of goods sold by using methods such as first in first out (FIFO) or last in first out (LIFO)
• Participate in the month-end and year-end closing processes including preparation of inventory-related financial reports and supporting schedules
• Calculate inventory turnover ratios by dividing costs of goods sold by average inventory balances
• Monitor inventory levels to ensure they are within acceptable ranges
• Make sure all inventory transaction details are recorded accurately in an accounting system
• Report on inventory levels, costs, and turnover rates to management
• Carry out any other related tasks as may be required

Job Qualifications and Experience

• The suitable candidate must have a Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or any related course
• Proven experience as an Inventory Accountant or similar role required
• Proficient in using inventory management software and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Excellent analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail
• Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to identify process improvements
• Good organizational and time management skills
