Position Overview:



We are seeking a diligent and analytical Chartered Accountant to strengthen our Group Internal Audit function. This is a high-impact role designed to provide independent assurance across our diverse business units. The ideal candidate will possess a strong audit background paired with specific knowledge of UAE taxation, crucial for navigating the complex regulatory environment of construction, trading, and logistics sectors. You will be key in safeguarding assets, optimizing processes, and ensuring robust financial controls group-wide.

Key Responsibilities:



Cross-Entity Audits: Plan and execute risk-based internal audits across the group's portfolio--from construction project sites and material supply chains to transportation fleets and quarrying operations. Project Audit Focus: Review large-scale civil engineering projects for contract compliance, cost control, change order management, and revenue recognition under IFRS 15. Supply Chain & Inventory Review: Audit procurement, logistics, and inventory management for building materials and aggregates, assessing controls over stock levels, wastage, and supplier agreements.

Tax Compliance & Advisory:



Ensure accurate VAT treatment across diverse transactions (zero-rated standard-rated supplies, reverse charges, capital asset schemes) relevant to construction, supply, and transport services. Review group structuring for optimal tax efficiency under the new UAE Corporate Tax regime. Liaise with external tax consultants and ensure readiness for FTA audits. Fraud & Leakage Prevention: Identify areas of potential financial leakage in high-volume transportation, fuel usage, material procurement, and subcontractor management. Process Improvement: Recommend practical, actionable improvements to enhance operational efficiency, cost savings, and control environments in field and office operations. Reporting & Follow-Up: Prepare clear, concise audit reports for group senior management and track the implementation of corrective actions.

Requirements & Qualifications:



Essential:

Professional qualification as a Chartered Accountant (CA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent). Minimum 3 years of post-qualification experience in internal/external audit, with exposure to construction, trading, logistics, or related industrial sectors. UAE/GCC experience is mandatory. Hands-on experience with UAE VAT is non-negotiable. Experience with UAE Corporate Tax is a significant advantage. Strong understanding of IFRS, particularly relating to revenue recognition (IFRS 15) and inventory (IAS 2). Ability to conduct audits in operational environments (construction sites, warehouses, quarries). Excellent analytical skills and proficiency in MS Office (Advanced Excel) and major ERP systems. High integrity, professional skepticism, and excellent communication skills in English.

Financial Framework Standardization:



Lead a key strategic project to review, align, and standardize the Chart of Accounts (CoA) across all companies. This includes designing a cohesive structure that supports accurate consolidation, simplifies group reporting, and enhances analytical capabilities for management.

Preferred:



Experience auditing fleet operations, fuel management, and subcontractor processes. Knowledge of the Emirates' Transportation and construction industry regulations. Data analytics skills (Power BI, etc.) to analyze large volumes of transactional data.
