Responsibilities & Duties

The Intern - Environmental Engineer assists the Senior Engineer - Environment/ Environmental Scientist and the broader team in producing environmental information while building analytic and reporting skills in the discipline area.

• Learns about ESHIA Studies, calculations, sketches, diagrams, and Environmental project models as per specific discipline requirement and exports draft and final environmental reports under the supervision of an experienced Engineer - Environment/ Environmental Scientist
• Assists with the design content by applying both design and technical knowledge to ensure high-quality outputs under project timelines
• Under Supervision, performs work following the agreed-upon budget and schedule
• When required, collects and analyses information from specific discipline and interdisciplinary project data sets
• Uses computer software as a tool for solving fundamental engineering/ environmental problems
• Coordinates with other discipline Engineers/ Scientists as applicable for the continuity of the Environmental study process
• Participates in study evaluation progress and coordination meetings
• Checks and ensures the quality of the model, survey and study teams for accuracy to reporting requirements
• Actively seeks information, opportunities to participate and contribute, and develops efficiencies and effectiveness
• Contributes by solving problems and applying experience or theoretical knowledge to atypical assignments

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in one of the following fields from an accredited University

• Environmental Engineering
• Environmental Science/Studies
• Sustainable Energy and Technology
• Geography and Environmental Science
• Ecology and Conservation
• Architecture and Environmental Design
• Sustainable Urban Environments
• Must have graduated within the last 12 months or graduating no later than June 2023
• Successful applicants must have a minimum 3.4 GPA or 2:1 (or equivalent) and above
• Candidates must be currently based in the UAE
• If you hold a Master\xe2\x80\x99s Degree, you must have started it within 12 months of completing the Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in order to have continuous education
• Good knowledge of MS office suite and Basic GIS (ArcGIS/Google Earth)

The Intern Program will run from 26 June - 29 Sept 2023 and is your opportunity to land a permanent position with AECOM. If your performance has been successful, based on a mid-program review, you will be offered a full-time role as a young professional in your field as part of our highly competitive Graduate Program starting in November 2023.
