Job Description

Assist in the implementation of DP World Group HSE strategy and standards as set by VP Energy Programmes, through the execution of global environment programs / engagements and ensuring compliance with the DP World's philosophy of zero harm to our people & the environment. This will include contribution to climate change mitigation and energy efficiency programmes, reviewing renewable energy programs, policies and standards, as well as assessing our global portfolio in areas of climate change mitigation, energy and environment.


KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

General

The internship is an opportunity to learn about topics around energy management and decarbonisation in the context of DP World's operations across ports & terminals, logistics, economic zones and marine services. Work on the development, implementation, and monitoring of assigned energy programs (climate change mitigation, energy and decarbonization projects, etc.) Assist in promoting and raising awareness, at all levels of the organization, of the impact of emerging climate change issues (climate change mitigation, energy, decarbonization, etc.) Contribute to the group existing climate change mitigation, energy, and environment projects Assist in developing, writing, and maintaining a variety of reports, documents, correspondence, and records related to DP World climate change mitigation, energy, and environment initiatives Opportunity to learn about audit, analyses and report carbon, energy, and environment performance internally (Monthly, Board and Annual Reports) and externally (such as Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI), Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), GRI etc.)

Act as an ambassador for DP World always when working; promoting and demonstrating positive behaviours in harmony with DP World's Founder's Principles, values and culture; ensuring the highest level of safety is applied in all activities; understanding and following DP World's Code of Conduct and Ethics policies Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:


Current student of engineering, environmental or sustainability degrees. Passionate and knowledgeable about key trends around global energy transition, energy efficiency, and decarbonization Interest in developing project management skills. Prior experience or interest in learning about: + Monitoring reporting and verification
+ Renewable energy, energy efficiency, and alternative fuels
+ GHG protocols and carbon modelling/analysis
Strategic mindset, big picture thinker with an ability to focus on the details where needed Ability to recognise issues, analyse, formulate and implement appropriate solutions * Excellent verbal, written communication, computer literacy, report writing and administrative skills
