Job Summary
The Insulation Operations Engineer is responsible for the
execution, supervision, and coordination
of thermal insulation maintenance works at oil & gas facilities. The role ensures safe, timely, and quality delivery of insulation activities, with coordination across
IPS / SPIR disciplines
when required.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and supervise
thermal insulation maintenance works
at operating plants.
Execute works as per
approved drawings, method statements, and ITPs
.
Manage insulation
manpower, materials, tools, and equipment
.
Coordinate with client representatives, planning, QA/QC, and HSE teams.
Ensure compliance with
PTW systems, safety rules, and site HSE procedures
.
Monitor daily progress and prepare
work progress reports
.
Identify and report
site variations and additional insulation scope
.
Supervise installation of insulation systems including
vapor barriers, jacketing, and cladding
.
Support
shutdowns, emergency maintenance, and corrective works
.
Coordinate with IPS / SPIR teams where insulation interfaces with painting or scaffolding.
Ensure proper
material reconciliation and job close-out documentation
.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's Degree in
Mechanical Engineering
or equivalent.
5+ years experience
in insulation execution within oil & gas maintenance environments.
Strong knowledge of
thermal insulation installation practices and materials
.
Experience working in
live plants and shutdown conditions
.
Working exposure to
IPS / SPIR maintenance contracts
is an advantage.
Solid understanding of
HSE and permit-to-work systems
.
Good leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with
Qatar / GCC oil & gas sites
is preferred.
