We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Instrumentation Engineer with expertise in industrial equipment, including laundry and kitchen machinery. This role focuses on the electronic and programming aspects of various machinery types, ensuring their efficient installation, upgrade, and maintenance for optimal performance. The role requires proficiency in using engineering software such as AutoCAD for system designs and ladder logic for PLC programming.
Key Responsibilities:
System Upgrades and Configuration:
Spearhead the upgrading of existing industrial equipment systems, such as laundry and kitchen machinery, including replacing outdated electronics, VFDs, inverters, and software to enhance functionality and efficiency.
Use AutoCAD to design and modify layouts and electrical schematics for system upgrades.
Configure systems post-upgrade to ensure seamless operation using ladder logic diagrams for PLCs.
Installation:
Manage the installation of sophisticated industrial equipment, focusing on precision in setting up electronic and control systems according to technical specifications.
Draft and review installation diagrams and electrical schematics using AutoCAD.
Maintenance:
Execute both preventive and corrective maintenance on electronic and control components of industrial equipment, minimizing downtime and extending equipment lifespan.
Maintain and service transformers, VFDs, inverters, and other electronic components across various machinery types.
Update and modify ladder logic as necessary for effective maintenance and troubleshooting.
Troubleshooting:
Rapidly diagnose and rectify complex electronic, control, and software issues in industrial machinery, restoring functionality and preventing operational delays.
Use ladder logic and diagnostic tools to identify and solve PLC-related problems.
Wiring:
Perform precise wiring tasks necessary for the installation and functioning of updated equipment, adhering to strict safety and quality standards.
Ensure proper wiring of VFDs, inverters, and transformers for optimal performance, guided by AutoCAD schematics.
PLC Programming:
Design and implement advanced programmable logic controller (PLC) programs using ladder logic.
Modify existing PLC code to improve machine operations and integrate new hardware.
HMI (Human-Machine Interface):
Develop and fine-tune HMI systems for optimal user interaction and process control, ensuring the interface is intuitive and responsive.
Inverters and VFDs:
Install and program inverters and VFDs, optimizing them for energy efficiency and performance tailored to the demands of various operations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Instrumentation Engineering, or a closely related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience with a strong focus on instrumentation and electronics within industrial equipment, including laundry and kitchen systems.
Proficient in AutoCAD for creating and modifying technical drawings.
Skilled in developing and troubleshooting ladder logic for PLCs.
Expertise in system upgrades, including hardware and software modifications, and system configuration.
Experienced in designing and troubleshooting HMI systems.
Demonstrated ability in electronic system wiring and inverter technology.
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
Excellent communication abilities and a proven track record of working effectively in team settings.
Work Environment:
This role is based in facilities with a variety of industrial equipment, with potential exposure to factors such as noise and varying temperatures.
Compliance with health and safety regulations is mandatory, and protective gear must be worn as required.
