Job Title: Instrument Engineer

Department: Instrumentation

Reports To: Engineering Manager

Job Purpose

To design, engineer, install, test, and commission instrumentation and control systems ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient skid-mounted and plant operations in compliance with international and Saudi Aramco standards.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and review instrument index, datasheets, loop diagrams, hook-up drawings, and cable schedules Supervise installation and commissioning of field instruments including flow, pressure, level, and temperature transmitters Perform calibration, loop checking, functional testing, and troubleshooting of instruments Integrate field instruments with PLC, DCS, ESD, and interlock systems Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, and process teams during project execution Review vendor drawings, technical submittals, and material specifications Ensure compliance with SAES-L, IEC, ISA, and project-specific standards Support FAT, SAT, and site commissioning activities Prepare commissioning reports, test records, and as-built documentation Ensure all work is executed in line with HSE requirements and company procedures

Required Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of instrumentation systems and control philosophies Hands-on experience with calibration tools and testing equipment Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, control narratives, and wiring diagrams Familiarity with Saudi Aramco engineering standards and documentation Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Strong communication and coordination abilities

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Instrumentation Engineering or Electrical Engineering Minimum 7-9 years of relevant instrumentation experience Saudi Aramco project experience is highly preferred Experience in skid-mounted systems, oil & gas, or industrial projects is an advantage
