Job Description

:

Carry out physical installation of AMI gas meters (residential/commercial) at designated customer locations.

Connect inlet/outlet piping, check for leaks, and ensure secure mounting of the meter.

Install and configure communication modules and ensure signal transmission.

4.Affix proper labels, tags, and seals after installation.

5.Perform pre-installation safety checks, including gas leak tests and verification of customer premises readiness.

6.Ensure use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow ADNOC HSE standards.

7.Conduct basic risk assessments and follow safe work procedures at each site.

8.Conduct basic meter functionality testing after installation (valve operation, signal check, display verification).

9.Assist in pairing the meter with handheld devices or data collection systems for MDM/HES integration.

10.Report meters with communication failures or configuration issues to the supervisor.

11.Accurately fill out installation checklists, including meter serial number, GPS location, customer details, and photos.

12.Submit daily reports and update the Installation Supervisor on progress and issues.

13.Coordinate with customers for access and explain any required information about the meter replacement.

14.Maintain a polite and professional demeanour as the first point of contact at site.

Required Qualifications and Skills: Educational Qualification:

ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing/Gas Technology.

Gas handling and HSE induction training (preferred).

?Basic understanding of smart metering is an advantage

.

Experience:

?2-4 years of experience in gas meter installations or utility field work.

Familiarity with AMI systems or working in ADNOC projects is a plus.

Key Skills:

?Ability to use basic tools (wrenches, leak detectors, handheld devices).

?Basic understanding of gas safety procedures, leak testing, and mechanical fittings. ?Comfortable using smartphones/tablets for meter mapping or data logging.

?Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions from supervisors.

?Physically fit and able to work outdoors in various conditions.
