: POSITION OVERVIEW : This project involves PMC services for design management and construction management and supervision of manufacturing/fabrication of Modules (high-rise buildings). Role: Provides direction and management for Installation/ Construction Delivery of high-rise buildings of a major program to ensure on-schedule completion within or below budget and in accordance with contractual obligations. Also, plans and defines program goals and devises methods to accomplish them; develops in-depth knowledge of client objectives, contract terms, and corporate policies. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES :
Plans, directs, supervises, and controls the execution of all aspects of Enabling works phase.
Prepares Project Management Plan. This should define the Project, including scope of work, deliverables, schedules and specific client requirements, if any.
Acts as the Program representative with selected suppliers during the program execution.
Establishes the program requirements for all areas of the program, and monitors the draft and final deliverables for adherence to these criteria.
Promotes technical excellence on the project, including furtherance of the Quality Improvement Process. Ensures that adequate checking is performed in accordance with policy and procedure.
Works with individual project managers to develop schedules and plans for the various elements of a project. Ensures that the project meets or exceeds goals established in these plans.
Assigns responsibility for executing project plans to key subordinates after careful assessment of how to utilize their qualifications and strengths. Provides input to performance reviews and development plans for subordinates.
Provides direction, making decisions and/or obtaining additional assistance as the situation warrants to ensure project completion per schedule and budget. This may include obtaining the services of external agencies.
Ensures that work is coordinated between all teams by maintaining clear and frequent communications.
Advises management regarding any problem areas, staffing requirements, delays in production, scope changes, or other events which could affect project completion and/or profitability.
May participate in negotiations with regulatory agencies and in public meetings in support of clients.
Completes other responsibilities associated with the position as may be appropriate.
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE :
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or related field)
25 years of related work experience, including supervisory/managerial experience
Significant managerial experience of a large group of Engineers, Designers, and technical support personnel
Professional Engineer registration with active membership in a professional engineering society may be required
Proven ability for managing a large group of engineering/technical personnel
Directing work involving complex technical situations
Excellent written and oral communications skills
Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are required
Must also possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and the capabilities and efficiencies of specific engineering software for use in completing engineering assignments.
