Job Description

Job Summary:
Amentum has an immediate opening for an Inspector-Weapons in Kuwait.

Performs scheduled and unscheduled inspections on small arms repairs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Performs initial inspections to determine the nature and extent of small arms repairs required.
2. Performs final inspections on small arms after the repairs have been completed.
3. Disassembles and examines parts and assemblies as required and reassembles and adjusts components.
4. Determines serviceability of parts and diagnoses and determines remedies for failures commonly encountered in the repairs of weapons systems using a variety of diagnostic techniques and TMDE with little or no supervision.
5. Prepares records of inspection/tests and makes them available to the QA/QC Department.
6. Obtains approval prior to repair actions on warranted items.
7. Cross trains when required to ensure maximum flexibility and possession of technical skills in the development and maintenance of quality programs.
8. Ensures compliance with government and corporate regulations, company SOPs, directives, and technical manuals to establish and maintain a quality management program.
9. Maintains cross-talk with QA/COR representatives.
10. Conducts surveillances and performs other administrative duties as required within the Quality Control Office.
11. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements:
Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • T1 NACI or higher in DISS or G2 required.

Experience:
  • 5 years of experience in small arms repair required.
  • 2 or more years of quality control/inspection experience required.
  • US Army MOS 45K, USMC 2111 or other military/civilian equivalent required.
  • Must have good knowledge of diagnostic tools and forms used at the unit and

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
  • Must have good knowledge of diagnostic tools and forms used at the unit and

DS/GS level.
  • Must have good knowledge of tools and repair equipment.
  • Must have the ability to analyze and interpret US Army Technical Manuals with relation to small arms repair.
  • Must be able to prioritize responsibilities in order to handle a demanding workload.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, oral and written English communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Must be customer service focused.

Work Environment, Physical Demands and Mental Demands:
  • Ability to perform job duties efficiently and effectively.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.
  • Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
