  • Inspecting sewer lines for cracks, leaks, or other signs of damage
  • Endorsing plans for building construction projects to ensure that they comply with local codes and ordinances
  • Conducting tests to determine the amount of bacteria in waste water to ensure compliance with environmental regulations
  • Calculating the amount of wastewater generated by homes or businesses in order to establish rates for municipal services
  • Inspecting facilities to ensure that they are properly constructed and maintained according to applicable codes
  • Inspecting construction sites to ensure that work is being performed according to plans approved by the local government agency issuing permits
  • Performing water quality tests on samples collected from various locations within the municipality
  • Inspecting plumbing systems in new construction to ensure that they are installed properly
  • Inspecting homes for structural defects and issuing repair orders where needed
  • Inspect work quality and materials used in Sewer works during various stages of construction
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Specs, ordinances and regulations.
  • Monitor work of staff responsible for taking samples of materials for examination or analysis by laboratories
  • Inspect underground utility construction including sewer and storm drainage, trenching, shoring,
  • dewatering, bedding for pipe, manhole construction, trench backfill and testing; oversee decision
  • making for connecting, testing, tapping, disinfecting and installing water mains.
  • Prepare detailed documentation of construction progress and inspection; prepare various reports on daily operations and activities.
  • Observe work during progress and upon completion.
  • Ensure that safety procedures are followed.
  • Monitor contractors, sub-contractors through all phases of construction to insure compliance with all Specs requirements.
  • Conduct final inspections; review as built drawings; compile final inspection correction list and inspect corrections.
  • Confer with owners regarding project schedule, hazards and inconvenience.
  • Prepare various inspection reports as required; maintain files and reports regarding inspection activities and findings.
Qualifications

Diploma in Civil Engineering OR Equivalent
