The 3rd Party Inspection Engineer is responsible for performing independent inspections and certifications of critical equipment and systems including lifting appliances, pressure vessels, electrical systems, elevators, and escalators to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client specifications. The role involves conducting on-site inspections, reviewing technical documentation, and issuing reports or certificates of conformity.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct inspections, testing, and certification of:
Lifting equipment (cranes, hoists, slings, etc.)
Pressure vessels and piping systems
Electrical installations and components
Elevators and escalators
Ensure compliance with international and local standards (e.g., ASME, API, IEC, EN, ISO, OSHA, LOLER).
Review design documents, test procedures, and material certifications.
Perform Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) supervision (if applicable).
Issue inspection reports and third-party certificates based on findings.
Monitor and evaluate safety conditions and recommend corrective actions.
Coordinate with clients, manufacturers, and service providers for inspection schedules.
Maintain documentation and records of inspections, audits, and evaluations.
Assist in root cause analysis and failure investigations as needed.
Support the development and continuous improvement of inspection protocols and SOPs.
2. Requirements
Educational Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in
Mechanical

Electrical
, or
Structural Engineering
from an accredited institution.
Experience:
Minimum 2
years
of relevant engineering experience in inspection and testing of industrial equipment.
At least
2 years
of hands-on third-party inspection experience in one or more of the following areas:
Lifting equipment and accessories
Pressure vessels and boilers
Electrical systems (low and medium voltage)
Elevators and escalators
Non-Destructive Testing
Skills & Competencies:
In-depth knowledge of relevant international codes and standards.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in writing detailed technical inspection reports.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical manuals.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Familiar with inspection tools and testing instruments.
Proficiency in MS Office, inspection software, and digital reporting tools.
Other Requirements:
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to inspection sites.
Good physical condition for on-site inspections (e.g., climbing, confined space entry).
Ability to work independently and maintain professional integrity.
