The Position

Note: This position is limited contract for 2 years.

Summary

The Legal Counsel extends support to the Legal Department of India, Middle East and Africa Cluster Roche Diabetes Care with regard to providing legal advice, preparing legal documents, negotiating, remaining updated with legislation changes, proactively, and efficiently engaging with stakeholders, working autonomously but also as a team player while maintaining at all times company\xe2\x80\x99s values, best interest and confidentiality.

Your Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review of a wide variety of legal documents and commercial contracts
  • Conduct legal research and data analysis as directed
  • Convey legal advice on different legal issues and follow-up information regarding risks and legal liabilities of actual policies, practices and contractual situations
  • Draft legal opinion, memoranda and other briefing documents
  • Negotiate contractual issues and agreements with internal and external parties as appropriate
  • Proactively communicate and follow up with internal stakeholders
  • Remain up-to-date with new relevant legislation and prepare summary for Head of Legal Cluster
  • Liaise with government officials, JAFZA, business divisions, external law offices and management on various legal issues
  • Implementing and simplifying policies and procedures related to legal matters (e.g. contract management, privacy, antitrust)
  • Participate in establishing and implementing legal training programs
  • Support Head of Legal Cluster in conducting legal audits and monitoring the implementation of legal clauses
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned and displays a positive attitude
Qualifications and Competencies
  • You have a Law degree
  • Masters and/or previous private practice experience, member of Bar Association (passed bar exam)
  • You have at least 6 years of experience as in-house Legal Counsel in health care/pharmaceutical industry with international activities, or private practice/law firm experience preferably with clients in the industry
  • You built knowledge and experience in Middle East and African laws, including but not limited to Commercial, Corporate, Labor Laws, etc
  • You have exceptional organisational and multi-tasking skills, high attention to detail and a strong sense of initiative
  • You have solid conflict management skills and effective in managing under stress in a volatile environment
  • You have strong presentation and communication skills
  • You are fluent in Arabic, English and French language, spoken and written.
  • You have excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
  • You are ability to plan and prioritize work to manage time effectively and accomplish assigned tasks in a timely manner
  • You have a high sense of integrity, authenticity, commitment, an eye for detail
  • You are positive and proactive, and show concerns for order and quality
  • You are able to work and adapt to a multicultural environment
