Job Summary Subject Matter Expert (SME) will support a strategic workstream to review existing UAE capabilities. The SME will operate as part of a diverse Team of highly trained professionals located in Abu Dhabi, UAE and coordinate with a remote pool of functional experts as required. This position requires extensive infrastructure security experience at the operational and strategic levels to achieve the organization\xe2\x80\x99s target mandate and missions. SME must have land and maritime-based critical infrastructure protection and security experiences to support the development of required capabilities for the UAE. This position requires deep understanding of the linkages and interdependencies from the strategic to the tactical level in order to operationalize. The SME must have a clear understanding of Infrastructure Protection and Security Roles, Responsibilities and Organizations, and how those concepts and capabilities can be scaled and adapted to support the establishing the UAE. This position requires experience building realistic training environments. Infrastructure Protection and Security mission area. Must be familiar with planning and conducting training seminars as well as conducting simulation-based training exercises. Experience with developing scenarios and conducting training. The Infrastructure Protection Trainer must have expertise in land and maritime-based critical infrastructure protection and security. Essential Functions
Apply operational and strategic level experience to support the identification of required organizational capabilities and develop fully integrated solutions that deliver the required capabilities
Apply tactical and operational level experience to conduct training
Apply appropriate concepts as the foundation for generating capabilities
Apply strategic and operational level infrastructure protection and security experience to achieve the objectives of the UAE
Provide subject matter expertise for infrastructure and facilities
Provide subject matter expertise for the application constructive and virtual simulations
Plan and lead training seminars on infrastructure protection and security functions, operations, and capabilities
Coordinate, as required, with infrastructure protection stakeholders to design training seminars
Support development of team roles, responsibilities and procedures
Provide subject matter expertise for infrastructure security
Identify and document lessons learned
Exhibit culturally appropriate interpersonal and negotiation skill
Desired Qualifications
15+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience managing infrastructure operations and training at the tactical and operational levels
Retired Colonel with extensive infrastructure protection and security projects at the operational and strategic levels and with training experince.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work with minimal oversight in a variety of roles
Demonstrated management and planning skills
Demonstrated experience and knowledge training with Coalition partners
Advanced Microsoft Office Suite Skills (emphasis in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint)
Previous work experience in the Middle East is preferred
Possess a valid Passport (with more than 6 months to expiration)
Master\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Critical Infrastructure Systems or equivalent engineering discipline
War College Graduate or MEL 1 equivalent
15+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience managing infrastructure projects at the operational and strategic levels
Infrastructure Management experience
Former Battalion Commander required; Former Brigade Commander preferred
Served as a trainer at a CTC or the Mission Command Training Program preferred
Education and/or Experience:
Master\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Critical Infrastructure Systems or equivalent engineering discipline
War College Graduate or MEL 1 equivalent
15+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience managing infrastructure projects at the operational and strategic levels
Infrastructure Management experience
Former Battalion Commander required; Former Brigade Commander preferred
Served as a trainer at a CTC or the Mission Command Training Program
Work history in the Middle East desired
