Do you have a great attention to detail? Put your inspection expertise to work on complex projects. Parsons is now hiring an Infrastructure Inspector for our rapidly expanding team. POSITION OVERVIEW: Under general supervision, performs difficult and sometimes complex inspection tasks. Inspects various facets of work on the jobsite and performs continuous surveillance of assigned inspection activities to ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and specifications. Documents nonconformance and may participate in determining appropriate resolution. Inspection activities are usually concentrated in one of the following areas: soils, concrete, asphalt, utilities, architectural, mechanical, or electrical. Willingness to travel and/or to relocate to field sites is expected. Performs work in safe manner and is cognizant of public safety.

- Performs technical work inspecting utility construction projects, assisting contractors to understand and meet procedures and job specifications, preparing inspection reports, and related work as apparent or assigned.
- Reviews construction plans; attends pre-construction meetings; assists in developing construction specifications.
- Inspecting site conditions prior to start of construction activities. Verifying the compatibility of the site with the designed permanent works.
- Maintains records including log books, project folders, and As-Build drawings.
- R eviewing materials delivered to site for conformance with approved samples, materials and equipment and report findings.
- Provides general inspection on all construction labor and subcontracted tasks to ensure professional workmanship.
- Verifies equipment alignment and balancing operations. Participates in the development of quality control reports and procedures
- Participates in the development of job safety practices and in the preparation of safety reports.
- Ensures that proper safety procedures are followed in co-operation with the Health & Safety Engineer.
- Takes samples of various materials tests and calls for testing as required.
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
- Associate's or equivalent degree in a technical discipline or construction related field.
- 5+ years of related experience on housing construction projects.
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and construction specifications and be thoroughly familiar with construction related processes related to area of assignment.
