Job Description
Role Summary: The Industrial Engineering Technician supports the Industrial Engineering (IE) team in improving productivity, efficiency, and process performance across manufacturing operations. The role involves conducting time studies, analyzing work methods, assisting in layout planning, and supporting continuous improvement and lean initiatives on the shop floor.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct time and motion studies to establish standard operating times for various manufacturing operations. ? Collect and analyze production data to identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities. ? Maintain accurate records of time study data, process sheets, and standard work documentation. ? Assist in implementation of lean manufacturing techniques (5S, Kaizen, Line Balancing, SMED, etc.). ? Support value stream mapping exercises and contribute to waste reduction projects. ? Participate in root cause analysis for process inefficiencies. ? Support preparation of layout drawings and process flow diagrams for production lines and workstations. ? Assist in optimizing material flow, space utilization, and ergonomics at workstations. ? Conduct trials for line balancing and manpower optimization.
Qualification: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field
Experience: 2 years experience
Skills & Competencies:
? Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD (for layout design) is a MUST
? Understanding of time study techniques and process mapping.
? Familiarity with ERP systems is an advantage.
? Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
? Good communication and teamwork skills.
? Hands-on, detail-oriented, and proactive approach on the shop floor.
