Job Description

Prepare and cook a diverse range of Indian dishes, including curries, tandoori, biryanis, and regional specialties, while upholding the authenticity and quality of each dish. Collaborate with our culinary team to plan and develop an enticing menu featuring a variety of Indian dishes, catering to different tastes and dietary preferences. Ensure the proper handling, storage, and use of ingredients, spices, and herbs to maintain the freshness and quality of food items. Follow established recipes and cooking techniques while demonstrating creativity in the development of new dishes and flavors. Monitor food preparation and cooking times to ensure prompt order fulfillment, all while maintaining consistency and quality. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace, adhering to strict hygiene and safety standards, including proper maintenance of kitchen equipment and utensils. Coordinate closely with the Head Chef and kitchen staff to ensure a smooth and efficient flow of operations during busy service hours. Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and participating in ingredient procurement as needed. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior kitchen staff, including training in Indian cooking techniques and compliance with restaurant policies. Stay informed about industry trends, culinary innovations, and customer preferences related to Indian cuisine to contribute to menu development and the growth of our establishment. Requirements:
  • Proven experience as an Indian Cook in a restaurant or similar culinary setting, with a minimum of 2 years of experience.
  • A genuine passion for Indian cuisine and a comprehensive knowledge of its regional diversity.
  • Exceptional culinary skills and a creative approach to menu development.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment.
  • Familiarity with food safety and sanitation regulations and a demonstrated commitment to hygiene and safety.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Culinary certification or formal culinary education is advantageous.
