IM Training and Assurance Co-ordinator Grade: 6 Location: Taif, Saudi Arabia JOB PURPOSE BAE Systems is the UK Government's nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons. The purpose of this job is acting as the independent office of Prime Responsibility for Training Progression and the Quality and Safety Assurance effort across Intermediate Maintenance. To co-ordinate the actions necessary to maintain, promote and facilitate training in relation to progression and measurement of RSAF IM trainees though to 1st & 2nd signatory levels. To review and manage quality standards and adherence to safe maintenance practices in support of the RSAF Typhoon IM activities. Responsibilities to be conducted in accordance with best industry practice, BAE Systems procedures, the Maintenance Organisation Exposition, the RSAF Regulatory Framework and any company maintenance approval. To act additionally as Training Measurement coordinator and shop maintenance capability achievements. JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES Act as the independent OPR for all Training, Safety and Quality issues in IM reporting directly to the Deputy Depth Support Manager and holding delegated authority to act on their behalf in attending TIM & local scheduled Training, Quality & SHE level 2 and 3 meetings; Providing specialist advice on Training, Quality and Safety of IM to both RSAF and PC Management and staff; Through active engagement with IM staff Coordinate Training Measurement requirements to facilitate focus on KPIs and provide representation at RSAF briefings Manage the IM EMS programme and represent the IM at the subsequent SRG's; Monitor the environmental and physical health program; Action, co-ordination and completion of all QA reports for IM within the agreed timescales; Action and co-ordinate Safety and SHE activities within the IM; Compile follow up actions post Safety Tours and ensure the Hazard and Corrective Action Register is updated accordingly; Support and promote the 'spot it report it' programme; Carry out independent review of husbandry standards throughout the IM; Manage the FOD Control Program and submission of any FOD reports; Monitor the standard of facilities and ensure any defects are recorded and reported to the correct department (O&M etc); RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION Essential Must be educated to HNC level or recognised equivalent or have relevant experience supported by formal, recorded workplace applied related training. Must have completed a recognised aircraft engineering apprenticeship in industry/military or similar qualification in aircraft systems engineering. Must have extensive proven experience in the maintenance and/or operation of military fast jets. Must have extensive proven post qualification experience within a Supervisory position within an operational military flying environment. Thorough knowledge of Training systems and both BAE SYSTEMS and RSAF Quality and Safety practices and procedures. Desirable Broad aerospace and defence company/industry knowledge. An understanding of engineering operating procedures. Previous experience of managing or overseeing training measurement quality and/or safety in a fast jet organisation - preferably Typhoon. Formal Training, Quality and/or SHE qualifications. RECRUITMENT The job holder should have the following background: Ex-military or industry experience of serving on an operational military flying unit. Thorough working knowledge of maintenance activities associated with a Third or Fourth Generation military fast jet aircraft. Experience of working in the aviation industry in a Gulf Coast Country preferred. The ability to act upon their own initiative within the scope of their job. A conscientious approach to work and meticulous attention to detail is also required. Considerable aerospace and defence company/industry knowledge. A track record of meeting strict deadlines without compromising standards and quality. Ability to influence and educate personnel in training quality and SHE related matters.
