Job Description

1. JOB PURPOSE To design, develop and implement Intangible Cultural Heritage Public Engagement initiatives by informing, engaging and growing the audience and community for intangible heritage in Abu Dhabi, and beyond. The Senior Specialist will develop and ensure each project is executed and delivered in alignment with defined timelines and agreed objectives and outputs.

2. ACCOUNTABILITIES Key Accountabilities Public Engagement Initiatives Design & Implementation . Design and develop ICH public engagement platforms and projects, ensuring diverse and targeted outreach with the aim of raising awareness and building dialogue . Write scopes of work for Culture Sector Marketing Department for key ICH projects, and manage the approval process of each communication plan . Coordinate the content delivery to Culture Sector Marketing Department by following the content review process with the ICH Interpretation Unit, ensuring efficient and timely handover of deliverables . Develop new A/V content as per projects' needs in partnership with Culture Sector Marketing Department and ICH Interpretation Unit . Design, implement, and monitor digital outreach projects with selected web developers, in collaboration with Digital Transformation Office and Culture Sector Marketing Departments . Devise the design and aesthetic language across all the section's projects ensuring all outputs are user friendly . Develop briefs for suppliers and outsourced individuals, ensuring clear information on scope of works approved by Unit Head . Develop the ICH outreach activations, events and participations detailed strategy plan that aims at engaging younger generations locally and foreign audience groups internationally . Collaborate with the ICH Activations and Operations Unit in implementing the ICH Activations Calendar, this includes: leading the marketing and communication related tasks; content briefing and collection; collateral development; and detailed design and development of programming, and other areas Creative and Research . Conduct research on creative schemes and tools applicable to ICH's context and target audiences . Conduct research to identify creative and innovative ideas for new public engagement initiatives as briefed by the ICH Public Engagement Unit Head, this includes skill development programmes, competitions and awards, etc. Information and Reports . Collaborate with other teams in Intangible Heritage Department to support and enable information dissemination . Produce monitoring and closing reports on all ICH public engagement programmes and initiatives, these include data, analysis and clear outcomes and reflections on improvements Community Engagement and Communities of Practice . Plan and execute community outreach workshops related to public engagement projects . Design and manage the communities of practice database to ensure it is always updated and covers the rich and diverse heritage practices in Abu Dhabi and beyond . Support the Unit Head in the communications with communities of practice when needed Coordination and Partnerships . Build strong relationships with external and internal partners to help in creating a culture in which public engagement is understood and valued. Policies, Processes and Procedures . Follow all ICH Interpretation and Public Engagement section's policies, processes, procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner. . Follow Culture Sector Marketing Department's guidelines, processes and procedures related to public facing deliverables such as digital schemes, filming, photography, etc. Collaboration . Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on matters related to Public Engagement area in order to facilitate flow of information and also to build awareness in those areas. Day-to-Day Operations . Follow the day-to-day operations set by the Line Manager in the ICH Interpretation and Public Engagement section to ensure continuity of work and the delivery of effective and high-quality outputs. . Report on a regular basis to ICH Public Engagement Unit Head on operational activities, challenges, hurdles and methods of resolution or mitigation etc. as required to keep the Line Manager informed and updated about the unit's activities. EHS (Environment, Health and Safety) . Comply with all relevant EHS guidelines, policies and procedures, by reporting incidents and hazards on a timely manner, and reduce consumption of natural resources to support in protecting the environment and ensure a healthy and safe work environment.

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES Qualification (e.g. Academic Qualification, Certifications, Licenses) . Bachelor's degree in Cultural Studies, Heritage/Museum Studies, Anthropology, Design, Architecture, Art History, Marketing and Communications or equivalent. . Master's Degree (preferred) in Cultural Studies, Curatorial Practice, Heritage/Museum Studies, Anthropology, Design, Architecture, Marketing and Communications or equivalent. Experience At least 2 to 4 years of experience in content development, programming, design and/or experiential design in the context of heritage. Preferably, having an experience in community/public engagement programmes and/or a knowledge in heritage related practices.
