As part of our strategy for growth and to further develop our capabilities in the Tunnel and Ground Engineering (TGE) Team, Jacobs are looking to hire a Hydrogeologist.
You will provide engineering hydrogeologist support and design input, working collaboratively with other members of the Tunnels & Ground Engineering (TGE) Teams, on a range of projects within primarily the water and infrastructure sectors, but may include other portfolios that the Company operates within. You will provide mentoring and guidance to less experienced staff, as well as technical review and Quality Assurance on deliverables. You will support projects, designs, tender bids and marketing activities for both external internal clients.

As a Hydrogeologist your responsibilities could include:

• In situ borehole hydrogeological testing - Specifying and supervising down hole in situ testing including but not limited to flow tests, VHPT, packer tests etc.
• Long term groundwater monitoring - Specifying and supervising the installation of groundwater monitoring instrumentation
• Field tests - Specifying and supervising field testing such as pump tests
• Laboratory testing - Specifying/scheduling hydrogeology, hydrochemistry (including dating) laboratory testing
• Interpretation of in situ testing, monitoring data, and field and laboratory testing specifically understanding the limitations of the testing itself and uncertainties associated upscaling to construction scales
• Report writing, specifically for the interpretation of groundwater for underground structures for underground groundwater management and hydro-geomechanical behaviour assessment. The influence of time on engineering hydrogeology. Aquifer property assessments
• Groundwater management for near surface construction including but not limited to specifying, supervising and reporting on dewatering and settlement control schemes

• Have a minimum of 5 years of experience
• Proven experience working in predominately rock environments
• Previous experience working as a Hydrogeologist
• Be able to reside in either the UAE or KSA
• Have a bachelor's degree in hydrology/geology/geotechnical or related degree
• Experience working in the Middle East is preferred
