Key Responsibilities:
Installation:
Assemble, install, and test HVAC systems, including ductwork, thermostats, wiring, and refrigerant lines.
Maintenance:
Perform routine inspections, cleaning, and servicing of HVAC units to ensure optimal performance.
Repairs:
Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with heating, cooling, and refrigeration systems; replace defective components.
Testing & Calibration:
Check system controls, airflow, and refrigerant levels; adjust settings for efficiency.
Compliance:
Follow local codes, EPA regulations, and safety protocols (e.g., handling refrigerants).
Customer Service:
Explain repairs/maintenance to clients, provide cost estimates, and ensure satisfaction.
Documentation:
Maintain records of services performed, parts used, and time spent on jobs.
Emergency Response:
Provide on-call support for urgent HVAC malfunctions when required.
Qualifications & Skills:
Certification:
EPA 608 Certification (mandatory for handling refrigerants); additional certifications (e.g., NATE) a plus.
Experience:
3+ years in HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, and using HVAC tools (gauges, torches, vacuum pumps).
Physical Ability:
Lift heavy equipment (50+ lbs), work in tight spaces, and withstand extreme temperatures.
Soft Skills:
Strong communication, problem-solving, and time-management abilities.
