HVAC TECHNICIAN
Job Title: HVAC Technician (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Technician)
Department: Maintenance / MEP
Reports To: Mechanical Supervisor / MEP Supervisor
Job Summary:
The HVAC Technician is specialized in installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. This role is critical for ensuring indoor environmental comfort and air quality.
Key Responsibilities:

• Maintenance: Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment, including cleaning coils, checking refrigerant levels, calibrating controls, and replacing filters.
• Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose and repair malfunctions in compressors, motors, thermostats, dampers, control boards, and other system components.
• Installation: Install new HVAC units and systems, including ductwork, piping, and electrical connections (in coordination with electricians).
• Refrigerant Handling: Handle refrigerants in accordance with EPA Section 608 regulations (requires certification).
• Emergency Response: Respond to emergency service calls and perform repairs to minimize downtime.
• Documentation: Complete detailed service reports documenting findings, actions taken, and parts used.
• Customer Service: Interact with clients or building occupants in a professional manner, explaining issues and resolutions.

Qualifications and Skills:

• High School Diploma or equivalent; completion of a technical school program or apprenticeship in HVAC.
• EPA Section 608 Certification (Universal preferred) is mandatory.
• 3-5 years of experience as an HVAC technician, preferably in a commercial setting.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of building automation systems (BAS) is a plus.
• Physical ability to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, and lift heavy equipment.
