Key Responsibilities
Health, Safety, Security & Environment
  • Implementation of the HSSE protocols at the facility including firefighting, safety signages/markings and trainings.
  • Ensuring compliance to HSSE standards during routine operations.
  • Closely working with the operational staff to achieve seamless working between HSSE and operations.
  • Day to day management of the security guard force at the facility.
  • Enable Operational team members with day-to-day responsibility to implement HSSE, IM and BCM related activities (management/implementation/assessment/training).
  • Assure critical controls are identified and a control effectiveness and maintenance plan is developed and implemented for the facility.
  • Ensure implementation of the HSSE, IM and BCM requirements of contractors and vendors and assuring provision in contracts, and conformance of contractors at their place of work in line with directions from Area HSSE Manager.
  • Provide technical expertise, leadership, and support across the functionalities.
  • Advise the business in a timely manner on all HSSE, IM & BCM legislative and best practice developments.
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure corrective and preventive measures are undertaken as well as controls and barriers are put in place.
  • Investigates, analyses and reviews all HSSE incidents high potential Near Misses and unsafe practices within the area. Report all incidents to the Area HSSE Manager according to the define framework.
  • Conduct post incident reviews for all incidents as required by the Global HSSE, IM & BCM framework, share findings with the Area HSSE Manager.
  • Conduct lessons learned review sessions for all BCP activations, share findings with all concerned.
  • Conduct HSSE and BCM audits of own as well as partner facilities as per Area programs.
  • Drive HSSE and BCM audit/exercise/testing process for facilities and vendors & follow-up to ensure adequate performance.
  • Conduct HSSE trainings of the facility staff as per the Area training plan including identification and selection of the training vendors.
  • Responsible to share HSSE KPIs to the Area HSSE Manager on the set frequency.
  • Identify trends of HSSE performance and responsible to drive HSSE continuous improvement initiatives.
    Quality & Food Safety
    • Understanding customer needs and requirements to develop effective quality control processes.
    • Ensure adherence to health and safety guidelines as well as legal obligations.
    • Develops, implements, manages, and tracks effectiveness of an integrated program, including systems, standards, procedures, measures and tools to assure that food safety, quality, sanitation and regulatory requirements are met for food products and operations.
    • Develops and delivers effective communications that provide partners at all levels with appropriate awareness and knowledge of quality assurance standards, program updates and process changes.
    • Lead the Food Safety and HACCP processes at respective site.
    • Stays up to date and builds expertise in food safety best practices, public health regulations and industry best practices.
    • Establish monitors and maintains a quality assurance and quality control system.
    • Conduct statistical analyses of food safety and quality data to assess compliance with related programs and determine where improvement is needed.
    • Maintain the quality assurance systems for proper certification.
    • Support, and comply with all quality management systems, continuous improvement programs, food safety, employee safety, preventative maintenance programs and legality.
    • Works with cross-functional team to investigate customer complaints to determine root cause and develops strategies to reduce complaint incidences.
    • Coordinates audit schedules with certification bodies
    • Oversee entire QC and food safety department.
    • Manage regulatory and customer visit and/ or audits.
    • Provides direction and subject matter expertise on various QA issues to assist internal and external parties with matter of compliance or audit inquiries.
      We are looking for
      Minimum 5 years of HSSEQ experience in warehousing/distribution (cold storage) with proven record in implementing HSSEQ systems and providing HSSEQ trainings to warehouse operations.
      Degree in Safety or HSSE Qualification is a plus (NEBOSH IGC, ISO45001 lead auditor, OSHA)
      Degree in Quality or Food Safety certifications (ISO 22001, HACCP)
      Communicate effectively with all levels in the organization.
      In depth knowledge with international/local legislations
